School Consultation Experience in a Residency Program
Abstract
The staff at Warren (Pa.) State Hospital believe that psychiatric residents should be exposed to consultation early in their training. They offer a wide range of consultative assignments to thefr first-year residents, as well as to those in the second and third years. The school consultation described here is considered especially useful in helping the resident learn to work with different disciplines and to understand the developmental theories presented in his didactic training.
