For the paper “Outcomes of Poorly Functioning Patients With Personality Disorders in a Day Treatment Program,” by Theresa Wilberg, M.D., Sigmund Karterud, M.D., Ph.D., Øyvind Urnes, M.D., Geir Pedersen, B.A., and Svein Friis, M.D., Ph.D., which was published in the November 1998 issue (pp. 1462-1467), the authors wish to note an error in the reported data. The published paper reported that 141 patients completed the day treatment program. However, according to more strict criteria applied at one-year follow-up, three of those patients did not complete the program and should have been classified as patients who were “discharged for other reasons.” Excluding data for the three patients did not substantially change the authors' results or conclusions, although many of the reported means, percentages, and statistical test values changed slightly. Results of the updated analyses are available from Theresa Wilberg, M.D., Ullevål Hospital, N-0407 Oslo, Norway ([email protected]).
