A Drug Unit for Life-Style Change: The Tellurian Community

1 Tellurian Community Winnebago (Wis.) State Hospital

The Tellurian Community at Winnebago State Hospital is a therapeutic community designed to change the life style of drug abusers. It was begun to meet the needs of seriously drug-dependent patients who require a longer-term residential program and are motivated for treatment. The community is a voluntary program, and the members are intimately involved with the staff in making decisions about their own treatment.
