Abstract

Major elements in the treatment of mentally ill offenders found unfit to stand trial are assessing the specific clinical factors affecting each patient's functional status and planning for individualized services to address these factors. A didactic group program may be an effective adjunct to such services in helping patients with axis I and axis II disorders attain fitness to stand trial.
