Chronic Brain Disease: An Update on Alcoholism, Parkinson's Disease, and Dementia
Abstract
Over the past few years the number of studies into the causes and cures of organic brain disorders has increased dramatically. Advances in knowledge about these disorders have been especially impressive in three areas—alcoholism, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. The author discusses in detail recent findings on these three conditions, points up the differences in data, and attempts, where possible, to offer conclusions on the current state of the debate.
